SVKM Establishes Dedicated SVKM Physiotherapy Clinic managed by NMIMS School of Physiotherapy to Strengthen Accessible Rehabilitation and Preventive Care

Mumbai, September 11, 2026:Recognising the role of physiotherapy in recovery, prevention and long-term functional well-being, SVKM has established a dedicated Physiotherapy Clinic which will be managed by NMIMS School of Physiotherapy to provide accessible and professional physiotherapy services to its community.

The Clinic will be formally inaugurated on September 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. and will cater to the health and rehabilitation needs of employees, students, faculty, staff and their family. Eligible members of the SVKM and NMIMS community will be able to access the services at subsidised rates.

Supported by the School of Physiotherapy at NMIMS, the Clinic will provide care across a range of specialisations, including:

* Musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy and rehabilitation

* Neurological rehabilitation for adults and children

* Oncology rehabilitation, including pre- and post-treatment support

* Cardiorespiratory physiotherapy and rehabilitation

* Women’s health physiotherapy

* Geriatric physiotherapy and rehabilitation

The facility will be equipped with modern physiotherapy equipment and will adopt contemporary treatment approaches. Physiotherapy faculty at NMIMS will bring together academic expertise and clinical experience across various areas of rehabilitation.

Speaking about the initiative, Chief Guest Shri Paresh Rawal, (Padma Shree Awardee, Eminent Actor and Theatre Personality said, “Physiotherapy has an important role to play not only in recovery, but also in prevention, mobility and maintaining an active and independent life. The establishment of this dedicated Physiotherapy Clinic is a commendable initiative by SVKM and NMIMS School of Physiotherapy, bringing professional care and expertise closer to the community. Initiatives such as these can play an important role in creating greater awareness about preventive healthcare and encouraging people to prioritise their long-term health and well-being.”

Guest of Honour Shri Bhupesh R. The Clinic will take a preventive and holistic approach to physiotherapy, with a focus on early intervention, health promotion, rehabilitation and maintaining functional independence. The initiative forms part of SVKM’s broader focus on creating a campus environment that supports the health and well-being of its community.

Going forward, SVKM plans to further develop the Clinic’s services in line with the evolving needs of its community and explore additional initiatives in preventive care, rehabilitation and health promotion.
