National, October 11, 2023: Shweta Kawaatra, well known for her role as Pallavi Agarwal in the popular television program Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, has joined coto, a social community app for women. Having gone through a rough postpartum journey, the actor created her community, My Mental Wellness Journey with an aim of sharing lessons learned from her own postpartum difficulties. Often referred to as having ‘baby blues’, as per the National Institutes of Health, around 1 in 7 women experience postpartum depression after giving birth. Most new moms experience postpartum “baby blues” following childbirth, which commonly includes mood swings, crying spells, anxiety, and difficulty sleeping. But some new moms, like Shweta herself, experience a more severe, long-lasting form of depression known as postpartum depression.

Through her community on coto, Shweta will be looking at discussing various aspects of new mothers’ mental and physical well-being. Based on her experience of postpartum depression, she will be sharing her thoughts on anxiety, self-care routine she adopted to tackle postpartum stress, and focus on nutrition as well as the well-being of new mothers.

My Mental Wellness Journey is a compassionate space dedicated to conversing with individuals navigating the complex landscape of postpartum mental health. coto’s purpose is to create a space where women can openly discuss their experiences, seek advice, and find solace in shared stories. The community’s goal is to empower, uplift, and create a safe space for all types of mental health topics, particularly during the postpartum period.

Expressing excitement about joining coto and starting a community on mental health, Shweta Kawaatra said, “I suffered from postpartum depression for five years and it taught me many things, it changed my perspective towards life. I started My Mental Wellness Journey community to connect with mothers around the globe and to share the lessons I have learned for a healthy motherhood experience. Having gone through depression, anxiety, stress, and sleep deprivation, I understand the burden of post-pregnancy and I want to help as many mothers as I can. Through coto, I can encourage women to be prepared for the path ahead of them and help them in their efforts to preserve overall mental and physical well-being through coto.”
