HPCL Enters into Long-term Agreement with HMEL

by Suman Gupta

HPCL has entered into a long-term agreement with M/s HMEL, for Operations and Maintenance of their newly commissioned Bitumen Terminal.

HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) has recently set up a Bitumen Blowing Unit (BBU) of capacity 62.5 TPH or 550 TMTPA of different grades of Bitumen at Guru Gobind Singh Refinery, Bathinda. For storing, handling and dispatching the product, HMEL has set up a marketing terminal and HPCL would be handling the same.

Earlier, HPCL had signed a long-term Product Offtake agreement with HMEL for upliftment of their entire production. Both the agreements put together would give HPCL 550 TMT of Bitumen in the northern region.

As per the Agreement, HPCL has agreed to handle HMEL Bitumen Terminal in addition to the White Oil Terminal. This MoU will be addendum to the Principle agreement for White Oil and Product Offtake Agreement between HPCL and HMEL.
