Mumbai, October 8, 2026: The Construction Federation of India (CFI) marked its Silver Jubilee, celebrating 25 years of representing India’s construction and infrastructure industry and addressing key policy, operational and project execution challenges. Themed “25 Years of Building Excellence & the Future Ahead,” the celebration brought together Chief Guest Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, senior industry leaders and infrastructure experts to discuss India’s next phase of infrastructure growth.

The leadership panel focused on technology, mechanisation, project delivery, governance and sustainable infrastructure. It highlighted the need for greater efficiency, productivity and resilience across the construction and EPC ecosystem.

Speaking at CFI’s Silver Jubilee celebration, Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, said, “I congratulate CFI on completing 25 years of its contribution to India’s construction and infrastructure sector. Our vision is to ‘Reboot Mumbai, Reshape MMR and make the region more connected and accessible’, while unlocking new spaces and opportunities. The scale of infrastructure development ahead means there is enough work for everyone, but delivering it will require greater capacity, skills and resources. Indian contractors have already demonstrated their capability by successfully delivering projects such as the Metro, Coastal Road and Atal Setu, often undertaking such projects for the first time.”

He added, “Today, with integrated infrastructure and technology, our ambition is to make mobility seamless, so that, increasingly, all a commuter needs to navigate Mumbai is a charged phone. CFI can play an important role in bringing the industry together to build on this momentum and shape the next 25 years of infrastructure growth.”

Mr. M V Satish, President, CFI & Advisor to CMD, L&T Ltd., said, “For 25 years, CFI has served as a collective industry platform to identify challenges, facilitate dialogue and advocate for a stronger and more enabling environment for construction and infrastructure development. The presence and support of the industry’s leading voices at this milestone reflect a shared commitment to strengthening the sector and advancing CFI’s vision for its future. We are proud of this collective journey and the role

CFI has played in bringing the industry together around issues that matter to its growth.”

He added, “As India enters an important phase of infrastructure-led growth, the focus must now be on improving project delivery, embracing technology and mechanisation, strengthening safety and sustainability, and working closely with government to address policy and operational challenges. The

next 25 years will require a more future-ready, resilient and globally competitive construction sector, and CFI is committed to helping shape that journey.”
