Bank of India Recruits 23 Sportsperson

 Received around 3000 applications

 To recruit more sportspersons in future

Mumbai, March, 2021: Bank of India one of India’s leading public sector bank conducted a recruitment drive for sportspersons across various sport categories for the posts of clerical and officer grades.

Applications were invited in the month of July, 2020, from sport disciplines like Archery, Athletics, Boxing, Gymnastics, Wrestling, Swimming, Weight Lifting and Table Tennis.

Candidates were selected under the supervision by a panel of experts from all sports disciplines including imminent personalities like Mr. Ankit Sharma and Abraham Joseph (Olympian Athletics), Sandeep Gupta(Table Tennis- Dronacharya Awardee) Mr. Abhishek Verma (Archery- Arjuna Awardee), Mr. Akhil Kumar (Boxing- Arjuna Awardee), Ms. Hansa Sharma (Weight lifting) amongst others. Shortlisted candidates had to go through field trials and interviews during the recruitment process.

The General Manager(HR), Shri A.K. Pathak said “We received around 3,000 applications in total out of which 2,500 were for clerical post and 500 for officer posts. After the final selections process was completed, 11 were selected for officer grade while 12 were selected for clerical grade. We could complete the process successfully against all Odds in present COVID situation”.

“Bank of India has always been a supporter of sports and sportspersons of our country and always been encouraging towards youngsters and talented sports persons in their journey. We will be on track to recruit more sports personalities in future,” he added.

The candidates were chosen from various categories ranging from Olympics, World Championships, World Cups, Asian Championships, Youth Olympic championships, Police and Fire Games, National Games, Interstate Championships, Inter University Championships. Khelo India etc.
