D’Souza hat-trick power Millat FC to big 7-0 win

Mumbai:  Powered by the brilliance of opportunistic striker Duane D’Souza who notched up a fine hat-trick Millat FC recorded an authoritative 7-0 win against a youthful India Rush Soccer Club in an Elite Division match of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) and played at the Neville D’Souza turf, Bandra on Wednesday. Kaushik Zadiwale netted two late goals while Keegan Pinto and Nachiket Palav got one each to complete the margin of victory.

Millat FC showed good coordination and called the shots from the start. They opened the scoring through Pinto in the very eighth minute. D’Souza showed good finishing scoring two goals in the 20th and 30th minutes to give Millat FC a 3-0 half-time lead. On resumption D’Souza was again on target in the 50th minute to complete his hat-trick and increase the lead before Palav scored the fifth goal in the 61st minute. Millat FC struck two more goals through Zadiwale in the 70th and 88th minutes to seal their big win.

Later, striker Arya Gandharva scored two goals, one in each half to lead Kenkre FC to a comfortable 2-0 win against Bombay Muslims SC in another Elite Division encounter. Gandharva struck the first goal in the second minute and again found the back of the net in the 50th minute to secure a deserving win for Kenkre FC.

Earlier, in Second Division matches, Los Galaticos defeated Maurya Foundation 2-0 and Millan FA got the better of Samuel FA by an identical 2-0 margin.

Results – Div-II: Los Galaticos 2 (Dixit Bhog, Sheldon Rego) beat Maurya Foundation 0.

Milan FA 2 (Mayur Damador, Gaurav Valvi) beat Samuel FA 0.

Elite Div: Millat FC 7 (Duane D’Souza 3, Kaushik Zadiwale 2, Keegan Pinto, Nachiket Palav) beat India Rush Soccer Club 0.

Kenkre FC 2 (Arya Gandharva 2) beat Bombay Muslims SC 0.
