IES Junior College record narrow win

Mumbai, February : IES Junior College snatched a tight 2-wicket victorya against Maharshi Danayand College in a second round match of the 2nd MCA Junior College Cricket Tournament 2023-2024, sponsored by Rizvi College Sports Club and played at the Government Law College ground, Oval Maidan, on Friday.

Batting first Dayanand College were bowled out for 168 runs in 37.5 overs. Indal Patel scored an unbeaten 28 runs and Saish Phulsundar added 20 runs. The star performer for IES College was Kartikey Shukla who took 5 wickets for 36 runs. Naman Pushpak 2 for 24 and Aryan Mandavkar 2 for 33 played good supporting roles.

In reply, IES Junior College managed to chase down the rival total scoring 169 for 8 wickets in 39.2 overs. Opening batsmen Arush Patankar and Krish Singh laid the foundation for their win scoring 43 and 40 runs respectively. Aaryan Punja and Agasthya Bangera both contributed 25 useful runs each. Dayanand College bowlers Aryan Deshmukh 2 for 23 and Indal Patel 2 for 28 tried their best to restrict IES College for reaching the winning target.

In another match, Guru Nanak Khalsa College romped to a fluent 6-wicket win against Bunts Sangha College. Bunts Sangha were bowled out for 161 runs in 37.5 overs. Khalsa College comfortably surpassed the target reaching 163 for 4 wickets in 28.4 overs.

Brief scores:  Maharshi Dayanad College 168 all out, 37.5 overs (Indal Patel 28*, Saish Phulsundar 20; Kartikey Shukla 5/36, Naman Pushpak 2/24, Aryan Mandavkar 2/33) lost to IES Junior College 169 for 8, 39.2 overs (Arush Patankar 43, Krish Singh 40, Aaryan Punja 25, Agasthya Bangera 25; Aryan Deshmukh 2/23, Indal Patel 2/28).

Bunts Sangha College 161 all out 38 overs (Yash Dixit 36, Tejas Nayak 3Mehboob Shah 22; Yash Pai 3/23) lost Guru Nanak Khalsa College 163 for 4, 28.4 over Arya Bele 66, Sai Sanil 44).
