Khadi and Village Industries Commission has been organizing Khadi Fest every year on the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Irla Road, Vile Parle Mumbai. Due to Covid Protocols, the fest could not be organised during last 3 years. After a long wait of 3 years, this year again this Fest is organized. This was inaugurated today by Hon’ble Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Shri Narayan Rane in the august presence of Hon’ble Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission Shri Manoj Kumar ji.The exhibition is offering discount up to 20 on Khadi and Village Industries products. The exhibition commenced on 2nd October, 2022 and will run till 1st November, 2022.
In this Khadi Fest formally inaugurated today, Khadi Institutions, PMEGP units from every nook and corner of the country affiliated to Khadi and Village Industries Commission are showcasing their products. In addition to cotton khadi, khadi silk, pashmina, poly Vastra, solar textiles, and other attractive apparels made of khadi fabrics, Madhubani prints, dry fruits, tea, kahwa, beauty herbal and Ayurvedic products, honey products, hand paper products, home decor products , Bamboo Products, Carpets, Aloe Vera Products, Leather Products and many other Khadi and Village Industries products are available .
After formally inaugurating the Khadi Fest- 2022 here today, Hon’ble Minister MSME Shri Narayan Rane and Chairman, KVIC Shri Manoj Kumar took first hand information about their products from the representatives of the institutions and units who have set their product stalls in the exhibition.
Reiterating the Prime Minister’s slogan of ‘Khadi Se Rozgar’, the Minister appealed for more and more purchase by visiting the Khadi Exhibition organized in Mumbai. He said that Mumbai is the market hub of shopping. And there is need to create a market for Khadi by offering attractive and contemporary design to create a niche in the global market.
On this occasion, Hon’ble Chairman, Khadi and Village Industries Commission Shri Manoj Kumar said that the dream of our successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is also engaged in realizing “Zyada Haathon Ko Paisa”.
He urged everyone that in this festive season, buy handmade items from our local artisans. He underlined that; the sale of Khadi has always crossed mark of crores on 2nd October sale. And this year too, Khadi is expected to create record breaking sales.
