Tata Institute of Social Science and Government of Maharashtra sign MoU to boost employment and vocational training to 15,000 students

Mumbai, 23rd September 2022: The School of Vocational Education (SVE), Tata Institute of Social Science signed an MoU with Samagra Shiksha, Government of Maharashtra under the Maharashtra Young Leaders Aspiration Development Program (MYLAP) in Mumbai, on 21st September 2022 to provide employment and vocational training to 15,000 students of Class 12 in Maharashtra.

The MoU was exchanged in the august presence of Shri Deepak Kesarakar, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for Ministry of Education, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, and Ministry of Marathi Language, Government of Maharashtra. The MoU signing ceremony was also graced by Shri Ranjit Singh Deol (I.A.S.), Hon’ble Secretary, School Education, and Sports Department, Shri Kailas Pagare (I.A.S) Hon’ble State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Prof. MadhushreeSekher, Dean, School of Vocational Education, SVE-TISS and Dr. Tania Shaw, Programme Head, SVE-TISS.

The MoU is aimed at meeting the objective listed under National Education Policy 2020 to take vocational education to 50% of schools, by 2025.

TISS-SVE has partnerships with 3750 industries located across India that represent various skills sectors and impart practical training to the students. Besides this, about 200 plus Service providers and approximately 500 faculty and Domain Experts are constituting and helping in strengthening the entire ecosystem of the School of Vocational Education.
