Star Movies: The Decade Of the Viewers, By the Viewers, For the Viewers

by Suman Gupta

Mumbai, 30th December 2019; Star Movies, India’s leading English movie channel known for setting new benchmarks celebrates ten years of unparalled entertainment and path breaking cinema in the last decade. In the last ten years, the channel has introduced many pioneering initiatives including the launch of Star Movies Select HD, monthly premieres of Hollywood blockbusters, Star Movies Secret Screening and various other campaigns all of which has been led by a continual zeal to give the viewers the best of English entertainment. The latest ground-breaking (or shall we say sky-breaking) campaign is #StarMoviesplay@7 where the channel brings together TV and Twitter through a unique consumer engagement model, which is a first for the category.

The Channel has been constantly innovating to enhance the consumer experience through new content. It has been Home to the Oscars since 1998 and brought some of the biggest Oscar® Premieres to the Indian audiences. With all the latest Avengers action going on, the channel is invariably also known as Home of Marvel cinematic universe.

Even before the OTT wars had begun to take shape, the channel had realized the need for a platform for a more esoteric viewer which led to the launch of Star Movies Select HD in 2015. The channel also introduced Short Films which is another first by any English Movie channel in India. The channel is dedicated to showcasing select movies that breathe fresh content and promise variety.

Another unique initiative by the channel is Star Movies Secret Screening. It is a fan based movement and has grown by leaps over the years with a crazy amount of love and support received from movie buffs all over India.

This new decade brings in great entertainment, an exciting line up of movies, content that caters to everyone in the family, all together on one platform, Star Movies! They surely love you 3000. Happy New Year 2020 !!!
