On the first death anniversary of Legendary actor Vikram Gokhle, the road leading to Cine and Television Artistes’ Association office building, CINTAA Tower, Andheri was named as Natashrestha Shri Vikram Gokhale Marg.
The plaque was inaugurated by Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, in the presence of CINTAA Executive Committee,
Vrushali Gokhle, Alka Gokhle, Versova MLA Bharti Lavekar, actors Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal, Preeti Sapru, Amit Behl. Vindu Dara Singh, Johnny Lever, Darshan Jariwalla, Sudhanshu Pandey, Tinaa Ghaai, Deepak Qazir Kejriwal, Hetal Parmar among others.
Anupam Kher said, “My last conversation with him was 2 to 3 days ago when I came back after finishing the shooting of the film Signature. I told him that he was such a fabulous actor, and if I could do even 10 per cent of it, I would feel blessed.”
Anupam Kher requested the Hon Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis to think of royalty for actors from OTT and other telecasts that would benefit senior actors and CINTAA members who are not having enough work at present.
Paresh Rawal expressed his gratitude to Devendra Fadnavis who made this occasion very special by giving his invaluable contribution.
Manoj Joshi’s passionate speech replete with interesting anecdotes set the stage afire.
Devendra Fadnavis was humility personified. Said he, “when such great personalities like Vikram Gokhle are immortalised with such initiatives, and our names are also associated with these, we also become part of this glorious tribute process. It is a great honour for me to be here. Vikram Gokhle ji was a diehard nationalist with a magnetic persona. He ruled people’s hearts.”
Vikram Gokhle was the President of CINTAA from 2017 to 2022. He had also donated one acre of land to CINTAA for Hindi Cinema and one acre to Marathi Cinema actors to build an old age home. Fadnavis promised to aud CINTAA fulfil Vikram Gokhle’s dream.
