Raksha Bandhan celebrations with human trafficking survivors organized by Friends of BJP

Mumbai, 31st August 2023 – Friends of BJP, a compassionate community organization dedicated to fostering positive change, organized a heartwarming Raksha Bandhan event to honor and uplift survivors of human trafficking. The event took place on 31st August 2023 at Kshamata NGO, where the spirit of togetherness and support shone brightly.

Raksha Bandhan, a traditional Indian festival that symbolizes the bond of protection and care between siblings, was transformed into a meaningful occasion to express solidarity and encourage the survivors of human trafficking. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, MLC Niranjan Davkhare, Former BJP Head of Corporators in Thane – Shri Manohar Dumbre, Senior Police Inspectors and Social media influencers- Simran Sharma, Pranali Bhalerao, Aishwarya Krishnan.

The event was organized by social worker Aditya Chauhan, under the guidance of Shri Niranjan Davkhare. The event was made possible through the tireless efforts of Friends of BJP volunteers, partner organizations, and the unyielding support of the community. It exemplified the core values of compassion, unity, and hope that Friends of BJP upholds in its endeavors to bring about positive change.

Shri Niranjan Davkhare, expressed his gratitude and appreciated the work being done by Kshamata and spoke about how protection and empowerment of women is important and wished everybody a happy Raksha-Bandhan. Senior PI, Vaishali Raskar and other female police officers from Wagle Estate Police Station also attended the event. They were praised for being protectors of women. The girls at Kshamata tied Rakhi’s to all the dignitaries and in return, were given gifts. Respected speakers from various walks of life shared their words of encouragement, emphasizing the survivors’ strength and resilience.

The event’s atmosphere was filled with joy, compassion, and empathy as survivors of human trafficking were adorned with Rakhi bracelets – symbolic of the promise of protection and support. Each Rakhi tied was a heartfelt gesture representing the unity of the community in standing with these brave individuals on their journey to recovery and empowerment.
