Niranjan Hiranandani School of Management & Real Estate Hosts Inaugural Real Estate Conclave: “The Future is Real”

The Niranjan Hiranandani School of Management & Real Estate (NHSMRE) at HSNC University proudly organized its first-ever Real Estate Conclave, themed “The Future is Real,” held on September 8, 2023, at the prestigious Rama and Sundri Watumull Auditorium in Churchgate.

The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, the Provost of HSNC University; Adv. Anil Harish, Partner at DM Harish & Co; and Trustee and President of HSNC University. Dr. Hemlata K. Bagla, Vice Chancellor of HSNC University, marked the occasion with her presence. Dr. Hemlata Bagla, the Director of The Niranjan Hiranandani School of Management and Real Estate, conveyed the vision behind the school’s establishment at HSNC University, Mumbai. She emphasized the school’s role in bridging the gap between the needs and skills of the real estate sector, fostering a culture of “envision it, build it” among the country’s brightest young minds.

Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, a distinguished figure in the real estate sector, provided an insightful overview of India’s real estate landscape. He shared that the domestic real estate sector is on track to reach a market size of $1 trillion, contributing 15% to the country’s GDP by 2030. Dr. Hiranandani highlighted the sector’s pivotal role in the nation’s development.

Dr. Hiranandani also touched upon the surging demand for residential properties driven by increased urbanization and rising household incomes, positioning India among the top-10 price appreciating housing markets globally.

Following the inaugural session, the conclave featured engaging panel discussions on various aspects of the future of real estate, including the future of cities, sales & marketing, AI & technology, and design and architecture.

Distinguished experts in the field participated in these discussions, including Mr. Shankar Deshpande, Chief of Town & Country Planning Division at MMRDA; Mr. Nayan Shah, Chairman & Managing Director of Mayfair Housing; Mr. Shobhit Agarwal, MD & CEO of Anarock Capital; Mr. Sanjay Puri, Managing Director of Sure Shot Suggestions; Mr. Abhishek Gupta, CEO of Index Cap; Mr. Pankaj Kapoor, Founder & MD of Liases Foras; Mr. Anirudha Khopade, Senior Vice President of Squareyards; and Mr. Mandviwala Qutub, Principal Architect of Mandivala Qutub & Associates. The panel discussions were skilfully moderated by Dr. Sundar Ram Korivi and Adv. Sanjay Chaturvedi.

The panellists shared valuable insights and perspectives, addressing topics such as urban development, affordable housing, government interventions, and the role of technology in the sector. There was unanimous agreement among the experts that the real estate industry requires support from central and state governments through regulatory and policy changes to stimulate demand among buyers.

The conclave, which began at 9:30 AM and continued until 5:30 PM, featured interactive Q&A sessions between the audience and panellists. To add a touch of fun and knowledge, a real estate quiz was conducted during the event, with exciting spot prizes awarded to the winners.

The well-organized conclave provided a platform for stakeholders to emphasize sustainable building practices, the adoption of new technologies, and the incorporation of green technology to reduce carbon footprints. It highlighted the industry’s collective commitment to inclusive, affordable, and accessible projects that cater to all sections of society.

The event’s unique blend of seasoned industry players and the vibrant youth audience reaffirmed the trust that experienced professionals have in NHSMRE to mentor and shape future leaders in the dynamic real estate market, increasingly influenced by young generation buyers.

The event was hosted by Mr. Hoshaang Gotla and marked a significant milestone in the real estate industry. NHSMRE conceptualized the annual conclave to harness the power of the young generation, infusing fresh perspectives into the real estate industry.
