14th September 2023, Mumbai: All India Gem & Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) is all set to announce the winners of the 11th edition of National Jewellery Awards (NJA) 2021-22 as it successfully concludes the jury round today at Taj, Mumbai. Jury members included eminent personalities from different walks of life: Mr. Jaykumar Makhija (Fashion Designer), Ms. Vidhyaa Majumdar (Global Compliance Director – HRDAntwerp, Mr. Gautam Shah (Entrepreneurial and driven chief Manufacturing Officer, with 30 years of leading industry expertise in Gems & Jewellery in Domestics and International), Mr. Anand Shah (Anand Shah Jewels) , Mr. Gautam Banerjee (Gautam Banerjee Jewellery), Kamakshi Kumar Ji (Yuvrani Saheb of Chuda of Saurashtra), Ms. Dipal Patrawala (Entrepreneur), Ms. Poonam Narula (Television Actress).
The winners for the 11th edition of NJA will be announced during a gala evening on 23rd September 2022.
Awards will be presented to overall 17 categories such as Bride’s Pride (Gold/ Diamond/ Jadau Bridal Jewellery); Couture Jewellery (Gold or Diamond); New Age Women’s Jewellery – 9-to-5 (Gold or Diamond); Paramparik Jewellery (Artisan’s Pride); Platinum Jewellery; The Touch of Color (Colorstone Jewellery), The Treasure of Ocean (Pearl Jewellery); Zirconia Jewellery; Bangle/ Bracelet/ Kada; Earring; Ring; Accessory; All Eyes on HIM (Men’s Jewellery); Sterling Silver Jewellery and Artefacts.
NJA also presents Excellence Award, Store Award, Designer Award, Artisan Award, Student of the Year Award, Corporate Social Responsibility Award, Women Entrepreneur Award and Special Awards (Anmol Ratna Award, Yuva Ratna Award and Gem of the Year for North, East, West and South).
Speaking about the conclusion of jury round of NJA, Shri Ashish Pethe, Chairman, GJC said, ““GJC’s NJA awards is the largest platform that recognizes and applauds all segments of India’s Gem & Jewellery sector. Our exquisite designs are hidden gems of the industry and NJA awards elevates this national treasure to take Centre-stage. It’s heartening to see the efforts participants have put in which shows the competitive spirit of Indian jewellers. NJA is the awards by the industry for the Industry and I wish all the best to all the participants.”
Mr. Nilesh Shobhawat, Convener-NJA, GJC, said, ““We have received a massive response this year for the national Jewellery awards. People have put in great efforts to create their Jewellery pieces and we have received more than 850 entries. The entire country should applaud their relentless spirit, energy and enthusiasm as they are marching on despite several challenges in the business environment. NJA proves that India has an immense pool of talent of artisans and craftsmen as well as young students taking up the profession. The Grand Jury round has concluded and the industry is excited to witness the path breaking designs from the winners of the 11th edition of NJA.”
