Mumbai, June 7, 2022 –Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, one of India’s top FMCG companies, organized a beach clean-up drive at the Bandra bandstand beach in Mumbai on this World Environment Day. More than 80 HCCB employees cleaned a 1.5 km stretch along the beach and collected more than 1000 kgs of plastic waste. The clean-up was organized in partnership with Jallosh – Clean Coasts, a Project Mumbai initiative aimed at cleaning the coastlines to protect Mumbai’s water bodies.

HCCB has extensively adopted plastic waste management initiatives wherein it works towards fostering collaboration between citizens, communities, urban local bodies government departments and stakeholders for sustainable solutions in plastic waste management. The company in association with its partners collects more than 100,000 tonnes of used plastic waste every year.

Speaking about the initiatives Mr Sunil Pissay, Zonal Vice President for Maharashtra and Goa at HCCB said,” We at HCCB truly believe in promoting and adopting sustainable practices in everything we do.  The clean-up drive is part of our efforts toward enhancing our environmental footprint and contributing to a better tomorrow. I am immensely thankful to the employees that participated in the beach clean-up drive. I also thank the Project Mumbai initiative for partnering with us and helping us contribute towards the cleaning of Mumbai coastlines”.
