Bangalore, May, 2021: With the start of the Phase 3 vaccination drive, Mitron TV, India’s leading short-format video app, has launched a new campaign – #VirusToVaccine in a bid to dispel existing myths about the vaccine. The campaign will be part of Mitron’s newly launched live streaming feature – Live Samvaad and will have a panel of doctors addressing queries and increasing awareness about vaccination. The panel of doctors will conduct weekly live sessions to bust myths as the Indian government announced the availability of COVID-19 vaccines for anyone over the age of 18 in the country.

#VirusToVaccine aims at ensuring users don’t fall victim to rumours and to fake information drifting on social media. The campaign has been designed in an effort to educate users about the importance of vaccination, accurate information surrounding the vaccine drive and busting myths.

Commenting on the new initiative, Shivank Agarwal, Co-founder and CEO, Mitron TV, said, “In this tough time, we would like to assure all our valued users that we are committed to sharing the right information through our platform. The campaign #VirusToVaccine aims at providing users with validated and verified information from qualified experts; eliminating the myths that are surrounding vaccination and unreliable information from online sources. It further helps in propelling users to avail the opportunity of seeking queries from experts that know the best.”

In this week’s live session on Saturday, 8th May from 7.00 PM, Padma Shree Awardee Dr Sanjeev Bagai (Sr. Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist and Pead. Nephrologist) will focus on how to take care of kids and yourself during COVID-19. The doctor will also address existing rumours about vaccination and safety measures one must follow.

The app hosted its first live session with Dr Kaushal Kant, a famous Orthopaedic Surgeon who spoke about the importance of vaccination and busted myths about the virus spreading through eye drops; undertaking the vaccine will make an individual infertile, amongst others. He spoke about how these rumours do not impact and one should not fall prey to such fake news and information. He concluded the session by urging users to get vaccinated as it acts as a prevention from the virus. He further mentioned that until 70% – 80% of the country doesn’t get vaccinated, everyone needs to follow social norms and always mask it up!

Going forward the live sessions will be conducted every Saturday at 7 PM on Mitron TV. For any further guidance and support on vaccination, users can send their queries to info@mitron.tv.
