Preet, Gaurav slams tons in National CC 95-run victory

Mumbai: Brilliant batting performances from Preet Nanda, who cracked an unbeaten 109 runs (89-balls, 6x4s, 4x6s) and Gaurav Kumar who scored 100 runs (76-balls, 9x4s, 4x6s) powered National Cricket Club to a 95-run victory against a fighting Mumbai Police Gymkhana in a second round Group-C match of the MCA Under-19 Cricket Tournament 2021-22, organized by Mangrol Sports Club in association with Pulse Sports Events Entertainment and played at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana ground.

Batting first, National CC bolstered by the century efforts of Preet and Gaurav amassed a huge total of 273 for 5 wickets from 40 overs. Mumbai Police Gymkhana fought hard and tried their best but could only manage to reach 178 for 8 wickets in 40 overs. Ali Siddhiqui top-scored with 56 runs and Saumil Malankar added 44 runs, while the other batsmen failed to stay long in the middle.

The other player who shared the limelight was Anshul Murli who smashed a 110-ball 140 runs which included 23 boundaries, which helped Bombay Gymkhana defeat Apollo CC by 68 runs in a Group-A match.

In another Group-C encounter, Shubham Girkar cracked 101 runs (108-balls, 11x4s, 2x6s) and Harsh Rane scored 54 runs as Karnatak SA reached 235 for 9 wickets in 40 overs. Later, Karnatak SA’s Vedant Gadia took 5 wickets for 19 runs to dismiss Bharat CC for a low 68 runs in 19.4 overs and record a 168 runs victory.

Brief scores: Bombay Gymkhana: 248 for 4 wickets, 40 overs defeat Apollo CC 180 all out, 38 overs.

Dadar Union SC: 175 all out, 39.5 overs defeated Young Mohammedan CC: 125 all out, 32.4 overs.

Karnatak SA 235 for 9 wickets, 40 overs defeated Bharat CC: 68 all out, 19.4 overs.

National CC: 273 for 5 wickets, 40 overs defeated Mumbai Police Gymkhana: 178 for 8 wickets, 40 overs.

P.J. Hindu Gymkhana: 165 all out, 40 overs lost to Sainath SC: 166 for 3 wickets, 32 overs.

Worli SC 110 all out, 31.5 overs defeated Islam Gymkhana: 97 all out, 23.4 overs.

Shantibai Memorial CC: 119 all out, 35.3 overs lost to Victory CC: 122 for 3 wickets, 27.3 overs.

Shivaji Park Youngstar SC: 218 for 3 wickets, 40 overs defeated D.Y. Patil SA: 186 all out, 38.5 overs.
