Kharadi | 08 October 2022: With the aim of enabling the healthcare fraternity to minimize mortality due to stroke, Manipal Hospitals, Kharadi organized a stroke masterclass on October 7th at Hotel Four Points Sheraton, Pune. The aim of this masterclass was to train primary and tertiary healthcare physicians to identify the early symptoms of stroke and provide timely intervention to save their lives. More than XX local doctors and physicians attended the masterclass to learn the value of time when dealing with stroke patients.
In recent times, the mortality rate due to stroke has significantly increased and is now getting prevalent even among youngsters. It is one of India’s leading causes of disability and death; almost 424 out of 100,000 people suffer from this fatal condition. Time plays a major role in saving the life of a patient, but in the majority of cases, patients suffer major brain damage due to a lack of timely treatment. The aim of this masterclass is to inform the local healthcare providers about the right techniques for identifying a stroke and immediately refer them to a tertiary care hospital as they are the first ones to attend to the patient.
“Dr. Ravi Pratap, Consultant, Emergency Medicine, Manipal Hospitals, Kharadi said” “Stroke is one of the leading causes of mortality and its treatment is a time-sensitive call that requires immediate attention within four hours. As the local physicians and doctors are the first ones to meet the patients, it is very important to train them on how to attend to a patient suffering from a stroke and the right call of action. With this masterclass, we attempt to inform them about the importance of time while dealing with a stroke patient and the right treatment. At Manipal Hospitals, we have a multidisciplinary facility and a dedicated team for treating cases of stroke. We have also attained international standards for the management of stroke cases. “
