02 June 2023, Mumbai – Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), one of the largest City Gas Distribution companies in India, has successfully laid the pipeline infrastructure and commenced the PNG supply at Jal Bhushan Bungalow, the Residence of Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, with an inauguration ceremony in the presence of Shri Santosh Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra and Shri Ashu Shinghal, Managing Director, Mahanagar Gas Limited on 01 June 2023.
Mahanagar Gas Limited has laid the Medium Density Polyethylene (MDPE) pipeline for the supply of PNG with an approximate length of 3 Km out of which 1.5 Km is on BMC road and about 1.5 Km inside Raj Bhavan premises. Soon domestic PNG will be supplied to 12 bungalows of senior officials of Governor’s Secretariat and other 198 staff quarters inside and outside the premises of the Raj Bhavan through underground pipeline at 100 millibar.
Commenting on the inauguration, Shri Santosh Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor, said, “We are pleased to announce the collaboration with MGL for the supply of PNG at Raj Bhavan. The inauguration of the pipeline network is set to supply PNG directly to the kitchen of Jal Bhushan Bungalow along with domestic PNG connections to other bungalows inside Raj Bhavan and the staff quarters in and outside the premises.”
Commenting on the commencement of PNG supply at Raj Bhavan, Shri Ashu Shinghal, Managing Director, Mahanagar Gas Limited said, “It is an honour for MGL as we set out to meet the domestic PNG needs of the highest office of the State of Maharashtra – Jal Bhushan Bungalow inside Raj Bhavan. With this we have reached one of the farthest points of South Mumbai. This is a step further in our commitment towards the safer and greener source of energy.”
