Kasturba Health Society at Sevagram will be visited soon: Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh

Mumbai : Kasturba Health Society at Sevagram in Wardha has been providing medical services for the last several years. It has also played an important role in the Covid-19 disaster. Owing this Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh clarified that he would visit the society himself soon.

A meeting on Kasturba Health Society at Wardha’s Sevagram was held at the Ministry today under the chairmanship of Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh. Secretary of Medical Education Department Saurabh Vijay, Director of Medical Education Dr. Tatyarao Lahane, President of Kasturba Health Society Dr. Dhirubhai Mehta, Dean of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences Dr. Nitin Gangane, Secretary, Kasturba Health Society B.S Garg and concerned officers of Medical Education Department were present at the occasion.

Medical Education Minister Shri. Deshmukh said, the Kasturba Health Society has done a great job during the Covid-19 period. There is a 50-bed hospital in Melghat where many patients are being treated. The Society has been working in the medical field for the last 50 years, respecting this we will be visiting the Society soon. For the last several years 50 percent of the expenditure has been borne by the Central Government, 25 percent by the State Government and the remaining 25 percent by the organization. Currently, Maharashtra is still struggling with the Covid-19 situation. But, the state government is positive about the grants being given by the state government added Mr. Deshmukh.
