28.09.2022, Delhi: India dot com Digital Pvt Ltd. (Zee Digital), one of India’s largest digital media company, hosted its first edition of Health Awards 2022 at New Delhi, to acknowledge and recognise the movers, leaders and achievers in the health sector of India.

The awards were graced by Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, who also addressed the gathering and shared her insights on the health care system. She said, “India has come a long way in the fight against the pandemic. As of today, we have administered 213 crore vaccines. This wouldn’t have been possible without the frontline workers and the medical fraternity. While, I’d like to congratulate the leaders and achievers of the medical fraternity for their glorious contribution to the field, I’d also like to encourage them to continue the momentum and serve as an inspiration,” She was also be joined by Dr. Shiv Kumar Sarin, Vice Chancellor – Institute of Liver and Biliary Science, New Delhi and Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director, Medanta among other stalwarts of the medical fraternity.

The esteemed speakers present at the award and summit shared their insights on the outcome of Covid-19 outbreak that transformed the healthcare system. They also highlighted the rapid progress the sector has gone through led by technological revolution. The panelists not only highlighted the innovations, and the emergence of telehealth, E-ICU, and a changed scenario of Emergency Care, but also highlighted the need to ramp up the infrastructure and manpower.

The summit also honored a number of pioneers and leaders in the sector such as Dr. C. K. Durga (Lifetime Achievement Award); Dr. Neerja Bhatla (Women Leadership Award in Healthcare); Fitterfly (Health Tech Start-Up of the Year); Lupin (Excellence in Patient Centric Initiative) and Dr. Rakesh Chadda (Individual contribution in the field of Psychiatry) among others.

Speaking at the event, Shridhar Mishra, CRO (digital) said, “Covid-19 has changed the way we look at medicine. It is no longer about the curing illness, but collaborating to prevent such pandemics. We are honored to be able to offer a platform for the stalwarts of the medical fraternity to share their ideas, and thoughts on where the sector is headed today. We look forward to hosting and honoring more such minds to and enable a change in the right direction.”

A central theme that dominated the conversations was the importance of collaborative medicine to make healthcare affordable and accessible to the general public. The summit also addressed the concerns of the Indian healthcare ecosystem and what needs to be done to alleviate the pain-points and close the bridge between rural and urban divide.
