Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, Mumbai sponsors ‘LIMBS ON WHEELS’, a customized van for Inali Foundation

Mumbai, September 2022: Padmashree Prof Dr. S.Natarajan, Chief clinical services, Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, A unit of Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, Wadala, Mumbai today flagged off a customized van known as ‘LIMBS ON WHEELS’. The van was sponsored for the Inali Foundation by Dr Agarwals Eye Hospitals group.

On the occasion Padmashree Prof. Dr. S. Natarajan, Chief Vitreo Retinal Services, for Dr. Agarwals eye hospitals worldwide and Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, A unit of Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, Mumbai, said, “It is an immensely proud moment for all of us to be associated with this wonderful project. It is a great initiative from Inali Foundation to provide prosthetic limbs to people who cannot afford them. The customized van will support their cause of the foundation, helping them to reach out to remote corners of the country and help underprivileged people. I hope the ‘LIMBS ON WHEELS – Prosthetic Van’ initiative does a yeoman service to the nation and the people by helping those in need. We will continue to support the Inali Foundation in their future endeavors, and we wish them all the best for LIMBS ON WHEELS.”

The Inali Foundation helps to create access to prosthetic arms to people who lost their arms in an accident or don’t have them by birth. The foundation works with underserved people living in the remote locations of India who are unable to afford prosthetic arms due to any financial or personal reason.  The customized van is equipped with all the required facilities to produce and fit the arm in village or other rural settings.

We hope this association continues, and together with Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital we can help more and more underprivileged people who require prosthetic arms.”

The van has been specifically modified to cater to the requirement of carrying about 500-1000 prosthetic arms at once for fitment. The van will carry three members from Inali Foundation’s staff who will be doing the fitment of the prosthetic arms. The van is also custom fitted with the equipment to make prosthetic arms at any desired location. Inali Foundation will set up 10 days Camps at various locations in the remote areas of the country, thereby creating access to prosthetic arms for the disabled people.
