Mumbai, 11th December 2019: The Dawoodi Bohra Women’s Association for Religious Freedom (DBWRF) made their presence felt at the annual Quirk Flash exhibition, with a creative showcase of the beauty of their culture.  At the event, which had a footfall of over 500 plus people, the DBWRF showcased artworks done by women from the community, which were a part of the #DoodleForDB competition held recently.  Amid much excitement, the prize distribution ceremony was held, which saw Zainab Sunelwala, Mariya Gulbadan and Sakina Chechatwala walk away with the first, second, and third prizes respectively.

Throughout the day, visitors were seen marveling at the works, which depicted various facets of Dawoodi Bohra culture, and the true beauty of what makes them stand out. This included, the family and societal values which they are raised with, their ridas, which they wear with pride, their unique architecture, and more.

Speaking about the association with Quirk Flash, Ms. Samina Kanchwala, Secretary, DBWRF, said, “Quirk Flash, for years has been a showcase of creativity, and talent, and we thought it was apt to give our members a chance to display their works here. We were also able to reach out to a large section of people, and tell them what DBWRF is about, and how we are the voice of a Dawoodi Bohra woman. Associating with Quirk Flash has been a great experience, and we look forward to more collaborations in the future.”
