Mumbai: A city on the banks of the Panchaganga River, in the west Indian state of Maharashtra – Kolhapur is in the grip of worst floods of the century, which has brought human lives to a standstill with lakhs of people remaining stranded in remote corners and on the roof tops. Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli and Solapur — the districts in western Maharashtra are experiencing the worst deluge with a total of 30 people died in rain-related incidents in five including 12 who drowned when a boat capsized in Sangli.
