CREDAI – MCHI FIRST TO DONATE GENEROUSLY TOWARDS KOLHAPUR FLOOD RELIEF

CREDAI – MCHI pledges Rs. 3 Crore towards Kolhapur Flood Relief Fund and have started dispatching tons of relief material from Mumbai

Mumbai:  A city on the banks of the Panchaganga River, in the west Indian state of Maharashtra – Kolhapur is in the grip of worst floods of the century, which has brought human lives to a standstill with lakhs of people remaining stranded in remote corners and on the roof tops.  Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli and Solapur — the districts in western Maharashtra are experiencing the worst deluge with a total of 30 people died in rain-related incidents in five including 12 who drowned when a boat capsized in Sangli.

Heavy rains have triggered flooding, landslides, home and bridge collapses which have severely disrupted air and train services there. Immediate flood relief measures were needed with supplies of essential items, commodities, basic necessities, food, water and medicines for the flood victims.

Chairing an emergency meeting in Mumbai, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said rescuing women, children and patients was the priority, and directed the administration of the flood-hit districts to make alternative arrangements for food, essential items, and drinking water. He announced on Rs.6813 cr assistance for flood affected people

CREDAI-MCHI, the apex developers body of Mumbai & MMR have always been in the forefront of providing relief measures during natural calamities in the country. Responding to the call of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Fadnavis, CREDAI – MCHI decided to donate Rs.3 Crore towards Kolhapur & Sangli Flood Relief Fund along with dispatching tons of relief material, from Mumbai.

Mr Nayan A. Shah, President, CREDAI-MCHI said, “We will set up full infrastructure, IT Park, Educational institutions, Hospital and residential apartment under PMAY scheme”. As conscious citizens of the country and responsible members of apex developers body, CREDAI – MCHI has come forward with the generous contribution to our brethren stranded amidst flood inflicted areas of Kolhapur & Sangli.
