Thane; 6th February 2020: Covestro (India) Private Limited, Mumbai alongwith their CSR partner ARCH Development Foundation from Vadodara have been dedicatedly working since past 3 years with nearly 50 government and aided schools across India to develop scientific temperament amongst the students of these schools by providing “Brighter World Labs” constituting 109 working models covering majority of the NCERT science syllabus.
Above from science lab – the project Brighter World Lab is supported with various science base activities throughout the academic year and an annual mega event of Eureka Science Fest is conducted every year.
This year Eureka Science Fest in Mumbai was inaugurated by Mr Anand Srinivasan, Managing Director, Covestro (India) Private Limited along with Mr Nishant Shah – Director ARCH Development Foundation in the presence of Guest of Honour – Shri Rajendra Bhat – Krishibhusan awardee and founder of Nisarg Mitra Farms.
11 schools from Thane and Navi Mumbai surrounding with nearly 230 participants exhibited various models and science experiments in various categories like Working Model on Physics, phenomenal ideas and innovative concepts on Smart Agriculture and Alternate Use of Plastics and numerous science based DIY activities. Eureka Science Fair was visited by 1500 students for a day long event after which winners of each theme and category were awarded by top management officials from Covestro and Arch Foundation.
The fair hosted in the campus of Bharat Ratna Shrimati Indira Gandhi Vidya Mandir – Thane was aptly designed by the team of Arch Foundation keeping the buzz with the participants and visitors alive through the day. The exhibits were evaluated by experts from various fields along with volunteers from Covestro to minutely grade the students performance and rank accordingly.
“The Brighter World Lab project is very close to our hearts at Covestro, not just because it is our brainchild, but because it involves two key elements for a brighter future. One is the channel – Science and the other is the doer – the child. If we can equip children of today with an appetite for science, instill a scientific temperament for the things around us and help them be curious about learning, the world will be at their feet” said Mr. Anand Srinivasan, MD, Covestro India.
As told by Mr Nishant Shah – Eureka Science Fest is a festival embarking not just the development and involvement of students in the field of science but a qualitative barometer to measure the impact and success of the project where year on year with every changing academic year – the project tries to reach 100s and 1000s of students to develop scientific temperament through this project and provide a unified platform for students to believe in their capabilities and rise up to the innovative and entrepreneurial aspirations of Young India………these are the faces of tomorrow who will be responsible to convert our todays world of various problems into a Brighter world and Brighter future
