Celebration of Swachhta Pakhwada 2021 during fortnight by Maharashtra Postal Circle

Maharashtra Postal Circle celebrated “Swachhta Pakhwada 2021” during fortnight from 16.11.2021 to 30.11.2021. Various Swachhata activities were carried out during the Pakhwada throughout Maharashtra and Goa.  Swachhta pledge was taken by 37,065 staff members that they will remain committed towards cleanliness and devote time at least 100 hours per year i.e. 2 hours per week towards voluntary work for cleanliness.

Postmen/Postwomen were identified as Swachhata Doots. While delivering regular mail, they also conveyed importance of Swachhta to members of public through Swachhta Slogans.

Special attention was given towards cleanliness of toilets in post offices. Social message of “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” was conveyed by affixing stamps on Speed Post & Registered Postal articles booked during the period along with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav logo. Online and Offline Essay writing, Quiz competition on Swachh Bharat Mission were organized in Post offices.

Rain Water Harvesting sites were cleaned, Swachhta march were organized and several Webinars were organized. Wet and dry wastage was segregated in the premises of postal colonies. Due Publicity was given to cleanliness  through Social Media platform like Whats app, Facebook etc. Tree Plantation drives were carried in Postal Premises. Blood donation camp was also organized.

To prevent Covid-19, messages about social distancing, washing of hands and wearing of masks were given through social media.
