Canara Bank organized One-day workshop on the occasion of “International Women’s Day”

On the occasion of “International Women’s Day”, Canara Bank, Head Office organised a workshop on 13.03.2024 at Spencer’s Tower, MG Road, Bengaluru. Women employees from Central Government Offices/Undertakings/Banks participated in the One Day Workshop that commenced at 10.00 am.

Eminent Women from various fields were invited as speakers. The first session was on “Women Empowerment through Capacity Building” by Dr. Anjali Majumdar, Assistant Professor, Psychology, Christ University, Bengaluru. The second session was on “Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace” by Ms. Rupa Rani, Entrepreneur and Business Counselling mentor, Bengaluru.

“Women play an important role in developing the society. The celebration of Women’s Day serves as a reminder of the progress we have made towards gender equality, and the future beholds the work that lies ahead of us. Women are multitasker’s and they don the role as a mother, sister, wife, daughter with ease,” said, Smt. K. Kalyani in her inaugural address.

“All women should opt for promotion and progress in their career. Their progress reflects the nations progress,” remarked Shri T. K. Venugopal, General Manager, Head Office in his key note address.

Shri P Gopikrishna, General Manager, Canara Bank stated that one of the objectives of celebrating Women’s Day is to make women aware of their rights and prepare them for the future. The program was compered by Smt. Harsha K. R., Manager, Canara Bank and the vote of thanks was given by Ms. Reenu Meena, Manager, Canara Bank.
