To mark the joyous occasion, hotels organize and host cake mixing ceremonies to spread the warmth of the festive season. People from different walks of life come together and usher in the Christmas spirit.
ITC Grand Central, Mumbai commenced its cake mixing ceremony on the 17th Nov. The event started with a welcome note by Mr. Kerman Lalkaka, General Manager, ITC Grand Central, Mumbai. The event had a lavish spread of Christmas delights, served with the traditional eggnog.

The first step towards making the cake is to mix a lot of fruits, dry fruits, honey and spirits. Ingredients such as Raisins, Black Current, Prunes, Glazed dates, Cherries, Candid Orange, Lemon Rinds and nuts like Cashews, Pistachios and Almonds are used for the mixing. Then comes the best part- pouring of the liquor, the ingredients are mixed together with honey and spirits to develop an aroma and taste for the making of the traditional Plum cake.
