Mumbai, 12th May 2022: Almond Board of California today hosted a panel discussion on the “Need for a Holistic Natural Approach to Beauty” featuring renowned Bollywood actress and celebrity Soha Ali Khan, Skin Expert and Cosmetologist Dr Geetika Mittal Gupta along with Ritika Samaddar, Regional Head, Dietetics at Max Healthcare – Delhi. The panel was moderated by RJ Smita of Radio Mirchi.
Keeping skin and beauty concerns in mind, the panelists spoke about the need to adopt a more holistic approach to naturally take care of their skin from within. The discussion largely centered around the importance of good nutrition and lifestyle for better skin health as well as different elements that can ensure healthy skin and beauty. After all, good skin health and beauty is a byproduct of a healthy diet coupled with exercise, and quality sleep. It does not solely depend upon topical application of products.

Cosmetologist and Skin Expert, Dr Geetika Mittal Gupta added, “As I always say to my clients, medical skin treatments are not the only solution to skin problems. In fact, skin health is determined by a combination of factors such as your health, diet, physical activity etc. and to truly ensure healthy glowing skin, one must maintain a good lifestyle and diet. A diet comprising of essential nutrients, vitamins and healthy fats is crucial for good skin. Consuming almonds can be beneficial for the skin. Almonds contain healthy fats and vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) that may benefit skin health. And that’s not all. A recent study showed that wrinkle severity and skin tone improved in postmenopausal women who ate almonds daily. [1]. Avoiding prolonged sun exposure, wearing protective clothing and using topical sunscreen are key strategies to protect one’s skin against photodamage. Research suggests that diet may also play a supporting role. A promising study[2] published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology indicates that consuming almonds may help support the skin’s resistance to UVB light.”
