Bank of India pays homage to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar

Mumbai, April 13, 2022: Bank of India, a leading Public Sector bank, today commemorated and paid homage to Bharat Ratna –  Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar – eminent jurist and one of the architects of the Indian Constitution – on the eve of his 131st birthday anniversary on April 14.

The event, which was organized at Bank of India’s Head Office in Mumbai. This program was hosted by All India BOI SC/ST/OBC Employee’s Association, Mumbai & Goa Unit, President Shri G P Mukne, and Secretary General Shri J K Kamble and attended by esteemed dignitaries of BOI. The Managing Director & CEO Shri A K Das along with Executive Directors Shri P.R. Rajagopal, Shri Swarup Dasgupta, Shri M. Karthikeyan and Smt. Monika Kalia along with CGMs/ GMs/ DGMs & other staff members joined the function as mark of respect towards Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on celebration of his 131st birth anniversary. All Executive Directors on this celebration paid homage by sharing the ideas propagated by Dr Ambedkar.

BOI Managing Director and CEO Shri A.K. Das said, “Dr Ambedkar was one of the principal architects of the Constitution and independent India’s first Law Minister. His contribution to the uplift of the underprivileged has been immense and serves as a constant reminder to what we can do to make our country a better place for all its citizens. The legendary social reformer spoke against the caste system and fought for the rights of the deprived, needy & downtrodden masses of the society. He further added that event commemorating Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary will take place at all its NBGs & Zonal Office as a mark of respect and appeal to all staff to take the pledge to imbibe the principles of Dr Ambedkar and work for well-being of the society.
