Bank of India observes Vigilance Awareness Week

Central Vigilance Commissioner addresses top BOI officials

Bank of Indiaa leading Public Sector Bank,celebrated Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) across all its ofices, from 31 10 2022 to 06 11 2022. Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) is celebrated every year by public organizations at the behest of Central vigilance Commission, coinciding with birth day of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.

This year it is being observed with the theme “Corruption free India for a Developed Nation”.

Corruption is one of the biggest deterrents of development and therefore it is the duty of each and every citizen to work towards elimination of corruption from public life so that our nation can develop faster.During the weeklong celebration, public organizations across the country are initiating various measures to promote and spread the message of corruption free society among its employees and citizens at large.

Bank of India through all its domestic as well as international branches and offices has taken up several outreach programs such as display of banners, publications through social media, customer meetings, village gram sabhas, debates and competitions at schools and colleges, quiz among employees, seminars etc to increase public awareness against evils of corruption and efforts to eradicate it for a better nation.

The week long celebration at the Head Office started on 31 10 2022 with integrity pledge, followed by a walkathon in BKC and concluded with a grand ceremoney graced by Shri Suresh N Patel, Central Vigilance Commissioner and Shri P daniel Secretary CVC on 5th November 2022 in the presnece of MD & CEO Mr A K Das, CVO Mr L N Rath and all top executives and officials. The CVC in his address extended hearty welcome, appreciated various preventive vigilance efforts being undertaken by the bank, encouraged all employees to promote a corruption free working atmosphere and assured adequate protection to honest employees. Speaking on this occasion Shri P Daniel, Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission deliberated on international perception about corruption in India and the necessity to eradiacte the same for sound economic development of the country. The MD & CEO Sri A K Das in his welcome address listed out various initiatives being taken up by the bank. The CVO Mr L N Rath proposed a vote of thanks, followed by couple of video presentations produced by employees of the bank.
