MUMBAI, JULY 14, 2021: As part of its Rendezvous series, The Chambers, India’s very first exclusive business club hosted the “Queen of Drapes”, noted Indian fashion designer Shaina NC. The Chambers event was conducted by IHCL’s iconic brand Taj, in an effort to showcase the intricate work of Indian weaver’s as part of a larger community outreach. Also in attendance were superstars Helen & Waheeda Rehman among many others.

Known for her beautiful saree deigns, Shaina NC is a master drapist amongst her many achievements, with the skillset to drape a saree in 54 different ways. The leisurely afternoon saw Shaina demonstrate multiple different types of Saree Drapes from across the country, each drape completed under a minute!

The elegant English High-Tea was hosted at the beautiful Garden View of the Taj Lands End, Mumbai. Guests enjoyed an elaborate afternoon spread while admiring Shaina’s designs and enjoying the elaborate fashion display by luxury brands Jimmy Choo and Bottega Veneta. Curated by culinary master Rohit Sangwan, Executive Chef, Taj Lands End, Mumbai, the food included an elaborate selection of savories and sweets to choose from, such as smoked salmon horseradish and cucumber, seasonal collection of homemade jam, ratatouille pie and many more.

Rendezvous is a collection of curated events that provides a set of experiences from culinary delights and drinks, moderated panel discussions and performances by the best in Art & Culture, Music and Stand-Up Comedy.
