Apollo Micro Systems Strengthens Indigenous Defence Technology Capabilities with Transfer of Technology for Semi-Active Laser Homing System

SALHS adds precision-guidance capability to Apollo’s advanced defence technology portfolio; VIGHANA (MIGM) programme progresses towards production

New Delhi, September 2026: Apollo Micro Systems Limited (NSE: APOLLO, BSE: 540879) has strengthened its position in India’s indigenous defence technology ecosystem with the award of the Transfer of Technology (ToT) for the Semi-Active Laser Homing System (SALHS). The ToT was awarded in the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh Ji during VIMARSH 2026 in New Delhi.

SALHS is a precision-guidance system designed to provide in-flight guidance to munitions towards a laser-designated target. The system works in conjunction with a laser designator, which illuminates the target, while the homing system detects the reflected and scattered laser radiation. The technology incorporates a Semi-Active Laser seeker with a precision optical detector and enables real-time in-flight course correction towards laser-designated targets.

The technology is designed for integration across multiple missile and munition platforms, subject to platform-specific integration and qualification. Its multi-platform applicability adds a critical precision-guidance capability to Apollo Micro Systems’ technology portfolio and strengthens its focus on developing and manufacturing advanced, mission-critical indigenous defence systems.

The SALHS capability is expected to strengthen precision-strike accuracy and target discrimination, with the optical and detector assembly enabling the system to identify and track the required laser signal. The addition of this technology further supports Apollo’s long-term strategy of deepening its capabilities in indigenous precision-guided defence technologies.

VIGHANA (MIGM) Programme Advances Towards Production

During VIMARSH 2026 in New Delhi, the MIGM (Multi-Influence Ground Mine) Handing-Over Ceremony for VIGHANA was also held in the presence of Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh Ji. Apollo Micro Systems is an approved production agency for the Multi-Influence Ground Mine (MIGM) – VIGHANA under the Development cum Production Partner (DcPP) framework of DRDO. The Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for MIGM has already been accorded by the Ministry of Defence, while DAC approval was accorded on July 3, 2026. The programme is now entering the production phase.

Apollo Micro Systems has stated that every aspect of the VIGHANA programme, spanning fibres, electronics and explosives, will be executed in-house, enabling complete supply chain independence.

Deepening Indigenous Missile Technology Capabilities

Technology has remained at the core of Apollo Micro Systems’ growth journey and its long-term vision of building a differentiated, technology-led defence enterprise. The acquisition of the ToT for SALHS aligns with this strategic direction by adding a critical precision-guidance capability to its existing technology portfolio.

By combining advanced technology with its established expertise in indigenous defence systems, Apollo Micro Systems is strengthening its ability to develop, integrate and deliver mission-critical solutions, while creating a differentiated platform for sustainable growth and deeper participation in India’s evolving defence technology ecosystem.

Shri B. Karunakar Reddy, Managing Director, Apollo Micro Systems Limited, said:

“Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s vision of a ‘prosperous, beautiful and a secured India’ continues to inspire the nation’s pursuit of technological self-reliance. The award of the Transfer of Technology for the Semi Active Laser Homing System is a significant milestone for Apollo Micro Systems and a strong step towards strengthening India’s indigenous precision-guided defence capabilities. We are honoured to mark this achievement in the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh Ji. For us, this milestone is not just about acquiring technology, it is about building capability, accelerating indigenization and strengthening the technological foundations of a secure and self-reliant India.”

The Board of Directors and Management consider the SALHS ToT award a defining milestone in Apollo Micro Systems’ growth journey, underscoring its technological capabilities, execution excellence and expanding strategic role in India’s critical defence technology ecosystem, particularly in missile warfare capabilities.
