Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Sunshine Pictures Makes A Strong IPO Debut, Gets Fully Subscribed In Just 90 Minutes
Acclaimed filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Sunshine Pictures has emerged as one of the leading production houses in the Indian film industry, having been behind some of the biggest and most remarkable blockbuster films through its production and distribution ventures across films, web series and TV serials. The company has now made a strong mark in the financial space as well.
Sunshine Pictures’ initial public offering (IPO) witnessed solid demand soon after opening for public subscription in the primary market on August 18. The IPO received an overwhelming response from investors and was fully subscribed within just 90 minutes of opening, marking a significant milestone for the company and reflecting strong market interest in its public offering.

As per NSE data, Sunshine Pictures’ IPO had received bids for 54.59 lakh shares against the 54.86 lakh shares available by 11:30 a.m. on August 18. The retail investor portion was subscribed 1.49 times, while the non-institutional investor category saw 1.16 times subscription.
Before the public issue, the Film and television producer-director Vipul Shah-promoted company raised Rs 84.64 crore from nine anchor investors. The list comprises Innovative Vision Fund, Khandelwal Finance Pvt Ltd, Arnesta Global Opportunities Fund, Uni Growth Fund, Zeal Global Opportunities Fund, Visionary Value Fund, The Asio Fund VCC, Shine Star Build Cap Pvt Ltd and LRSD Securities Pvt Ltd.
Grey market tracking platforms indicated that Sunshine Pictures shares were commanding a GMP of around 21 percent. Investorgain quoted a GMP of Rs 75, suggesting a potential listing gain of 20.83 percent, while IPO Watch reported a GMP of 20.28 percent.
The company’s Rs 282-crore IPO opened for subscription on August 18 at a price band of Rs 342-360 per share and will remain open for three days before closing on August 20. Promoters Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Shefali Vipul Shah are participating in the offer for sale (OFS), with Vipul Shah offloading 20.31 lakh shares and Shefali Shah selling 10.06 lakh shares.
Sunshine Pictures intends to deploy up to Rs 112.50 crore from the fresh issue towards its long-term working capital needs, while the balance will be used for general corporate purposes. The proposed listing is expected to improve the company’s visibility, strengthen its brand image and establish a public market for its equity shares in India.
Sunshine Pictures operates across the entertainment sector, with its business spanning the origination, creation, development, production, marketing and distribution of films and web series. The company is now entering a significant new phase with its IPO, backed by strong investor interest and a growing entertainment portfolio. The listing is expected to strengthen the company’s presence, expand its reach and support its ambitions across films and web series.
