Altamount Road’s Ambe Mata

by Suman Gupta

This year, the vibrant and bustling Altamount Road comes alive with the majestic presence of Goddess Durga, adorned in splendid decorations that reflect the spirit of devotion and celebration. The Young Star Committee has taken the initiative to commemorate this auspicious occasion, ensuring that the essence of community and compassion shines through.

With the generous support and blessings of Shri Anant Ambani (son of Shri Mukesh Ambani), the celebrations feature a remarkable effort to feed those in need. Throughout all nine days of Durga Puja, the committee is dedicated to serving meals twice a day, embodying the spirit of giving and sharing that the festival represents. This initiative not only uplifts the less fortunate but also fosters a sense of unity among the residents of Altamount Road.

The beautiful pandal is situated next to the iconic Antilia house of Indian business magnate Mukesh Ambani and is one of the most visited pandals in South Bombay. As the community gathers to honor the goddess, the grandeur of the decorations offers a visual feast, while the act of feeding the less fortunate adds a deeper significance to the festivities.
