FUJIFILM India unveils the magnificent “FUJIFILM GFX100 II” at Broadcast India Show 2023

The flagship camera boasts extensive video performance that caters to the needs of professional video production.

Mumbai, 9 November 2023: FUJIFILM India, a global leader in photographic technology, today launched the stunning “FUJIFILM GFX100 II” in India. Unveiled at Broadcast India Show 2023 held in JIO World Convention Centre, Mumbai, the camera is the latest addition to the GFX Series of mirrorless digital cameras. The flagship model features a newly-developed 102MP high-speed image sensor, “GFX 102MP CMOS II HS”, and a high-speed image processing engine, “X-Processor 5″, to deliver up to double the signal readout speed compared to the current model, delivering the highest burst-shooting, AF, and video performance in the history of the GFX Series.

The GFX100 II boasts superior image quality thanks to the large format sensor. It is the first GFX Series camera equipped with AI-based subject-detection AF, developed with Deep Learning technology, as well as the latest predictive AF algorithm. Hence, the new sensor has significant enhancements in video recording capabilities as well. GFX100 II is also the first GFX Series camera that supports 8K/30P video and can record 4K/60P 4:2:2 10-bit video internally. Furthermore, it offers the new “Video Format” modes to enable video recording in multiple formats, including Premista, 35mm, and anamorphic (35mm) with the mount adapter. The camera body is equipped with an Ethernet port as well as HDMI Type A and USB-C terminals to significantly improve connectivity with external devices for diverse peripheral combinations. Moreover, the latest model marks remarkable improvements in both burst mode performance and stabilisation capability, now reaching an impressive 8.0 frames per second and upgrading to an eight-stop five-axis system, respectively, opening new frontiers of the GFX Series. Additionally, featuring an ergonomic body design, the camera provides a comfortable shooting experience.

Celebrity Photographer and X-Ambassador FUJIFILM India, Dabboo Ratnani, praised the newly launched GFX 100 II camera for its exceptional capabilities. “Having a hands-on experience with the camera for 10 days what really appealed to me was its 102MP BSI CMOS medium format sensor, AI-derived subject recognition AF system, in-body image stabilization rated at 8EV, and continuous shooting at up to 8fps. The extensive video options include 8K and anamorphic support, direct record to SSD and camera to cloud support. Its NP-W235 battery provides around 540 frames or 60 minutes of 4K30p recording on a single charge. This feature-rich camera clearly outperforms my expectations.”

Aseem Bajaj, renowned Director of Photography, has announced his plans to shoot a short film using the newly launched GFX 100 II camera by Fujifilm.
