  • Delhivery Ltd., India’s largest fully integrated logistics service provider, has generated last-mile delivery jobs extending to the remote areas of the country owing to its extensive network of 18500 pin codes.
  • It provides a springboard for field executives to launch their careers and aim for more significant roles in the organization.

Mumbai, 29th September 2023: India’s largest fully integrated logistics service provider, Delhivery, is leveraging its nationwide network in every state in India to significantly improve employment opportunities in the last-mile delivery segment.

With formal employment in the segment being increasingly sought after, owing to the boom in India’s e-commerce and infrastructural development, Delhivery has provided delivery agents (LMA) and field executives (FE) an opportunity to launch their careers in logistics.

FE Vikram Rokde from Mumbai, Maharashtra, shares, “My previous company laid me off during the 2021 lockdown. But it was Delhivery who supported me during this difficult time by offering me the position of a Field Executive. I’m very proud to be a part of a truly caring and supportive organization.”

LMAs and FE are crucial to the business as they constitute the last leg of the supply chain, directly impacting customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. By providing state-of-the-art technology for address validation and standardization, as well as geocoding, Delhivery makes it easy for last-mile executives to locate customers quickly.

In addition to offering technology resources to ensure a smooth working experience, Delhivery provides its entire last-mile workforce with performance-based incentives, fuel, and mobile expense reimbursement, along with added financial security and benefits such as Provident Fund (PF) and Employee State Insurance (ESI). “Before joining Delhivery, I had worked with multiple companies in office jobs that were not satisfactory. But now, I’m very happy with the monthly salary, benefits, and flexible work timings that come with my field job,” said Abhishek from Bangalore, Karnataka.

Delhivery executives have experienced professional growth in various forms. For R Malsawmsangi from Aizawl, Mizoram, it was recognition for her work, followed by a promotion. She said, “I joined the Aizawl dispatch center (DC) in 2016 and was transferred to another DC in 2018 due to a shortage of manpower. I worked with ground operations and supported them until their operations were streamlined. I was promoted to Assistant Team Lead (ATL) in the same year.”

Delhivery’s large volume of shipments ensures a consistent workload for delivery personnel and offers them higher earning opportunities. The company provides a holistic working environment with a dedicated manager for each FE and the ‘Direct Delhivery Centres’ acting as workplaces.

Ananta Pachare from Athner in Madhya Pradesh shares how Delhivery allows him to earn more. “Security, recognition, and growth – Delhivery has given me all this and more. Delhivery’s incentive plan, in particular, is rewarding. I earn more when I deliver more shipments. I feel a sense of calm working here,” he said.

On the growth opportunities at Delhivery, Mithun Chakraborty, Senior Director – Mid-mile Operations, said, “I started working at Delhivery as a field executive, and 10 years later, I’m a senior director here. Being passionate about your goals and thinking one step ahead to fulfill them is very important for growth – and Delhivery encourages and supports it at the same time. This is my dream job, and I’m living it here.”

The logistics company is also driving change by hiring more women last-mile agents and field executives, fostering a culture of inclusivity and diversity in on-ground operations.
