Ajit makes bright winning start

Mumbai, May 30: Ajit Kobnak of P.J. Hindu Gymkhana showed good touch and compiled a break of 24 points in the opening frame and went on to record an easy 3-0 (46-0, 46-16, 45-29) win against Bapu Gaikwad of BPGC in a first round match of the Bathija-P.J. Hindu Gymkhana 6-Red Snooker Open Markers Tournament, conducted under the auspices of BSAM and played at the Hindu Gymkhana billiards room on Monday.

Meanwhile, Goregaon Sports Club billiards markers Bernard James and Suresh Mahadik, both were comfortable winners in other first round action. James was in complete control in his match against Ravi Shetty (JVPG) and marched to a 3-0 (42-16, 37-12, 40-5) victory. Mahadik also had things much his own way and posted a straight frame victory against Sunil Naik (Wodehouse Gymkhana) racing to a 3-0 (44-15, 30-18, 40-25) win.
