Holy Family Hospital Pays Tribute to COVID-19 Warriors

Announces Upgraded & Enhanced Facilities For Patients

Mumbai, 15th April, 2023: In a first of its kind initiative, Holy Family was the first private charitable trust hospital to partner with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to run entirely free of cost, a Covid Care Isolation Center at Khar, Mumbai during the outbreak of the pandemic. Holy Family Hospital went on to become the largest non-governmental Covid Care hospital in Mumbai with a peak time capacity of more than 170 Covid bed strength including 28 ICU beds. As the country navigated through a pandemic, doctors, nurses and support service staff cemented their position as the foremost champions to keep us safe during these difficult times. Hence to pay a tribute to the COVID-19 warriors, Holy Family Hospital unveiled an art installation centered around ‘Hope & Care’.

In the presence of His Eminence Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Bombay, Sr. Vandana, Superior General, Congregation of UMI , Mrs. Genelia Deshmukh, Bollywood Actress, Mr. Vinayak Vispute, Addl Municipal Commissioner ‘H’ West Ward, Mr. Harish Shah, Founding members, Harish and Bina Shah Foundation &, Dr.(Sr). Beena, Executive Director, Holy Family Hospital unveiled the new installation and said, “The theme of the art installation is ‘HOPE AND CARE’ which have been the vital factors which sustained us to sail through the pandemic. “HOPE” has played a crucial role in instilling resilience and optimism in people and “CARE” has been vital in ensuring the safety of patients, healthcare workers, and the community at large. These two elements, hope and care, have collectively guided us through the pandemic’s difficulties and have made us emerge stronger on the other side.”

In line with its mission to upgrade and enhance the existing facilities, Holy Family Hospital recently launched a geriatric clinic and a 2nd cath lab to cater to the needs of their patients. Talking about the same, Sr. Beena, Director, Holy Family Hospital, said, “ Our aim is to constantly work to improve patient outcomes, create better experiences for patients and their families, and a more efficient and effective healthcare system. This involves upgrading the facilities, ensuring adequate space, improving the ventilation system and creating a calm environment. These improvements will not only benefit patients but also create a more comfortable and efficient working environment for our staff. We express our deepest gratitude for the generous contribution made by the Harish and Bina Shah Foundation towards enhancing the facilities at our hospital and helping us develop state-of-art healthcare facilities”

Holy Family Hospital has played an instrumental role in helping Mumbai navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. With its ongoing efforts and we continue to navigate the ongoing challenges of the pandemic, the installation serves as an ode to to honor and support our frontline and essential workers, and to recognize the vital role they play in keeping the communities healthy, safe, and strong.
