India, August, 2022 Darwin Platform Group of Companies (DPGC) embarked on a new journey with the Next Generation battery-powered two-wheelers Electric Vehicles (EVs) sector. Darwin EVAT – a green venture of DPGC today announced its three exquisite models of electric two-wheelers – Darwin- D-5, D- 7, and D-14 ready to hit the Pan India market by the year-end (December 2022).  The company initially invested nearly Rs 450 Crore in this transformation and is taking a comprehensive approach, ranging from research and development to production of green vehicles, which also includes strategic collaborations and partnerships.

“Our infrastructure is ready to roll out EVAT. Equipped with Japanese Technology production of the Darwin EVAT has already begun at Delhi-NCR located facility. The manufacturing plant adopts eco-friendly and sustainable manufacturing practices. This plant provides an integrated system for Battery Pack Manufacturing and Testing, Vehicle Assembly, and Vehicle End of Line Testing (EOL). We are in the process of setting up a robust dealership and retail network across the country so that we can meet the growing demand for eco-friendly, energy-saving, and low-cost vehicles,” said Dr Raja Roy Choudhury, CEO, DPGC.

“Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the occasion of the nation’s 75th Independence Day, stressed for energy independence” through the use of biofuels, solar energy, and electric vehicles (EVs). EV two-wheeler sales in India expected to grow at the rate of more than 78 percent by 2030. Darwin EVAT, before hitting the market, would ensure that our customers get excellent post-sales services. Charging infrastructure is one of the major concerns when it comes to the growth and broader adoption of EVs in the country. The high-growth mobility segment demands a highly efficient ecosystem in terms of manufacturing, sales, charging and post-sales services,” added Dr Choudhury.

The Darwin EVAT has been receiving a promising response from auto dealers across the country as they see a huge demand for vehicles with Japanese technology and have high mileage efficiency at affordable price. With the ‘Charge and Go’ maxim, these two-wheeler EVs- Darwin- D-5, D- 7, and D-14 provide the young generation a new experience with several exciting features including trendy muscular design, mileage efficiency, keyless entry, speed control gear, battery swapping, and digital cluster among others.

“Now we are focusing more on our marketing and sales networks. The automobile industry is undergoing an electric revolution, and Darwin EVAT would enormously contribute with its premium vehicles.” Going forward, we will launch E-vehicles in high-speed segment and EV 4 wheelers too,” said Dr Choudhury.

With a Pan India sales network, Darwin EVAT would make available superior quality vehicles at affordable prices. Darwin D-5, D- 7 and D-14 EVAT has priced the scooters aggressively to catch up with its competitors. The beginning of 2023 would be Darwin EVAT making competitive presence in 2-Wheelers EV Market in the country.
