Mahika is India’s first integrated digital learning & placement platform exclusively for women, In a move to improve employability and encourage more diversity at work, Mahika has come up with an integrated free digital learning and placement platform to ensure jobs in specific segments.

According to data, India churns out around 60 Lac graduates every year, but most of them are unemployable. Percentage of women passing out colleges every year is more than men. However, we see only 30-35% women joining the corporate sector at the entry level. While the industry is facing both employability and diversity issues, the educated woman of this country is either compromising on doing a low-paying job in unorganized sector or giving up on her dreams due to societal pressure. This  is primarily because of lack of awareness in terms of the industry scenario, the job opportunities, pay scale, perks, incentives, the life after joining a corporate sector, and so on.

Mahika the startup is backed by notable board of advisors like Padma Vibhushan Dr. R. A. Mashelkar, Former Director General – CSIR, Usha Thorat, Former Deputy Governor – RBI, G. Padmanabhan, Former ED – RBI & Former Chairman – BOI and Sandeep Tandon, Investor & MD – Tandon Group.

Mahika provides easy access to skill-based online learning and career guidance at no cost to women, thereby creating opportunities to become preferred candidates at job interviews. The meritocratic system, outcome-based learning, psychometric fit assessments, industry specific courses designed by IIT Bombay experts, simulated learning environment through micro-learning & gamifications are a perfect fit with immediate requirements of well-established companies.

Mahika is currently targeting unemployed women graduates, women who discontinued education after Class 12, part-time workers and graduates but currently working in the unorganized sectors from the Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities of Maharashtra with a plan to cover all major cities and towns across India. Within a short period of time since its launch, more than 5000 young women have registered on the platform and are undergoing pre-hire prep course. Very soon they will be placed in reputed companies as white-collar employees.

Mahika has engaged with iRealities Technologies, a leading player in e-learning & gamified content space, to create an engaging & interactive content suiting the needs of the learners. Understanding the learner’s profile, the content is designed to explain complex topics in simplified format. To retain the learner’s attention the courses are structured with combination of storytelling and gamified content infused with real world examples. This ensures that the learning objectives are met effectively.

“We want to continue with our efforts to reach every woman of this country, make her employable and provide job opportunities so that she can make a living for herself, become financially independent and support herself and her family.”, quotes Hiren Kulkarni, Founder & CEO, BeMahika Tech Pvt. Ltd.

“Since this is a skill-based training and in skill training, understanding and retention is very important. Hence gamification is the ideal choice for design of content. It not only helps in improving skill set but also makes learning these skills a lot of fun”, says Prasad Ajgoankar, CEO, iRealities Group.

Aspiring women can register on the website,http://www.bemahika.comand start learning the course immediately at their own pace. After course completion, learners get certified and are placed in back -office departments of top BPM, BFSI and Telecom companies.
