Fueled by Passion – Akshat Saxena, Co-Founder, ePayLater

by Suman Gupta

Akshat and his love for tech are inseparable. Ever since he was a child he has always had an affinity for numbers and problem-solving. He continued to pursue this interest, which led him to the natural next step of learning how to code.

Through school, college, and his career he continued to hone his skills, and his coding projects became more and more ambitious. With the core belief of creating things that have real-world applications, it was only a matter of time before Akshat found himself revolutionizing the fintech industry in India. And thus, ePayLater was born.

Founding and running your own company takes a lot of hard work and dedication. Even after years, there are plenty of late nights as ePayLater has grown exponentially every year. To stay on top of things, one must ensure that they are not burning out and that their minds are fresh enough to take on new challenges every day.

So how does Akshat spend his downtime?

As Confucius once said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Akshat is the epitome of this thought. It’s not often that he finds himself with spare time, but when he does he’s inadvertently drawn back to his passion for coding. This is perfectly illustrated by Akshat’s ranking as the world’s number one hacker in Python on HackerRank in 2020. He also runs an active blog under his alias, Cipher Yogi where you can see this for yourself.

However, Akshat has recently started devoting more time to family, and in particular, his one-year-old daughter! He has always been fond of children, and is a firm believer that they are the future of not just the country, but society as a whole!

It’s with that thought, that Akshat makes it a point to take as much time as he can to impart his knowledge to the youth of today. Besides just giving talks at prominent educational institutions from around the country, he even acts as visiting faculty!

“The youth of today are the ones who will be able to bring a chance to society at large. They won’t be restricted by many of the constraints that previous generations were held back by. It’s our duty to empower them, and provide them with the platform they need to bring about a great technological and social revolution.”
