Since the inception of the Covid-19 pandemic, education and learning is moving online, and learners lack interaction with tutors and companions. Interactive learning technologies hold the potential to engage students in the familiar classroom environment without moving away from their homes.

In 186 countries worldwide, the COVID-19 pandemic seized 1.2 billion children of the conventional school experience. This sudden change has urged educators and parents to promote fair, reliable, and educational alternatives to brick-and-mortar classes and institutions. This is especially challenges for younger children who can’t study on their own. Educators are turning to online learning to substitute the conventional classroom experience. The concept of educational technology was growing popular even before COVID-19.

Online Education Trends

Online learning trends tell that segment of the market is inclining approaching 3D interactive digital learning, including AR technologies, VR, and game-based learning. In contrast, others will need interactivity to be strong, such as hybrid homeschooling.

VR instead of VE.

AR technology is growing massively among schools because of the interactive experience it adds to learning. It helps kids visualize difficult concepts and magnifies their understanding by impersonating fun facts and 3D models of certain concepts. Likewise, VR helps learners understand lessons by engaging them in new cultural sites and historical settings.

AR Based games (Learning & Exploring)

Augmented reality gaming (AR gaming) integrates game visual and audio content with the user’s environment in real-time. Unlike virtual reality gaming, which often requires a separate room or confined area to create an immersive environment, augmented realitygaming uses the existing environment and creates a playing field within it. AR has a place in our future. While companies may not be quite sure where that is, the technology has been used with promising results in mobile gaming. AR games are for leisure and make classrooms a more fun place for the students. They help engage students in collaborative learning with hands-on activities that enrich essential skills such as critical thinking, logical reasoning, communication, problem-solving, and more.

Hybrid Homeschooling

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, homeschooling was not familiar. Some educational institutions understood the value of homeschooling during the pre-pandemic time and enabled learners to study partly from their respective homes.

Nowadays, the idea of homeschooling is more relevant than ever; moreover, the hybrid version gives relief to parents while limiting school attendance days. Therefore, in such contexts, interactive technology is an excellent learning resource for children and their teachers.

3D Interactive Learning Technology Expands Online Education

3D Interactive learning is a hands-on way of giving knowledge instead of quietly attending a lecture or reading assigned material. Children might observe passive learning as boring because their opportunity for involvement is minimal. This type of learning also has confined options for evaluating student understanding. Similarly, 3D interactivity catches learners’ attention, involves them in debates, discussions, interviews, and stimulates critical thinking.

In a traditional school environment, teachers generally shuffle active and passive ways of pedagogy. As the Covid-19 pandemic has pushed us to rely on online learning, many educators feel it is crucial to simulate the familiar school environment as much as possible.
