Neeti Goel Leads from Front to Curb Mumbai’s Hunger Crisis

by Suman Gupta

After the Announcement of a partial lockdown in Mumbai declared by the Chief Minister chaos as been swept in the state. Amid rising cases lockdown seemed essential as human life would also be prioritized over any other means. But this time around a uncertain lockdown with no strategic plan has made the Homeless & Needy once again restless as hunger crisis in the city mounts on with many unable to meet ends for a nutritious meal. Neeti Goel known for her philanthropic work as part of Lockdown 1.0 where she co-founded khaana chahiye, a UN recognized  NGO distributed 45 lakhs meals to the needy, Worked with the BMC on the shramik campaign where 287 trains were catered with Food & water, Distributed 20,000 plus ration kits to the Poor households in Maharashtra, co-founded ghar bhejo abhiyan with Sonu Sood where 5 lakh plus migrants were sent home with adequate food and water has once again stepped up by hitting the roads this time around starting with 2000 meals a day. They plan to once again scale up operation this time around with the looming hunger crisis in the city. She was on the forefront last year on numerous projects where she was been felicitated and been given the honor of lots of prestigious awards in the nation. Neeti being a restauranteur has been using her outlet to the best of use to cater meals, pack ration kits etc when restauranteurs were firing their staff in the pandemic she ensured all her staff were well sustained as this drive required a lot of manpower. There is also a saying charity starts within our reach before tapping the world outside.

Well this time around Neeti along with group of volunteers have made a hunger map wherein 65,000 needy and homeless people have been mapped out to be given help with daily meals and ration kits. This time around scaling up to 65,000 meals won’t be a easy task around for her as this needs a big amount of funding so we urge all households in India to step up and help us in this effort to make Mumbai hunger free by stepping up with small contributions from their ends to ensure no homeless or needy sleeps at night with a empty stomach. If anyone looking to donate can either write to us on care@lbtrust.in or give us a call at 8779914539 wherein we can share necessary information for any Indian looking to make a small contribution to wipe out the hunger crisis in the city. We would also urge citizens to highlights areas in their neighborhood where demand of meals and ration kits are essential for the Needy and the marginalized so that we can configure those areas as part of our various routes where doing the distribution drive in the city.
