Mumbai,11th March 2021: Department of Telecommunications, Mumbai LSA organized an online awareness workshop on (i)PM-WANI (ii) Electromagnetic Radiation on 9th March 2021. Smt Sivakamy Rajagopalan, DDG (Administration) welcomed all participants. Shri Nizamul Haq, Senior DDG, Mumbai LSA inaugurated the workshop. Shri Sanjay Sethi, Director (Technology), briefed about the PM-WANI project, which will provide impetus to roll out of public Wi-Fi hotspots and help realize the vision of Digital India. Shri C P Samant, DDG (Compliance) resolved misconceptions about health hazards due to radiations from mobile towers. The workshop was attended by 202 participants including TSPs, ISPs, OSPs, PDOs, IPs, RWAs, Aggregators, Application providers, Govt. representatives and DoT officials. All queries and doubts raised were clarified aptly. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Hemant Borale, Director (Compliance).
