The prize money announced by the Department of Cultural Affairs will be given to the dignitaries soon

Mumbai,December: Various awards are given annually by the Department of Cultural Affairs to senior artists in the state who have made significant contributions in the field of art. The award is given in a grand ceremony by the state government.

Due restrictions on public events in the wake of the global epidemic Covid-19 this year, Cultural Affairs Minister Amit Vilasrao Deshmukh clarified that, it is not possible for the cultural department to hold award ceremonies at present. Therefore, the prize money of this year’s awardees will be credited to their accounts soon.

The Department of Cultural affairs has been announced Gyanoba-Tukaram Award to HBP Badrinath Maharaj Tanpure, Natvarya Prabhakar Panashikar Rangbhumi Lifetime Achievement Award to late Veteran Playwrighter Ratnakar Matkari, Sangeetacharya Annasaheb Kirloskar Sangeet Rangbhumi Lifetime Achievement Award to Senior Singer-Actress Madhuvanti Dandekar,Tamashasamradini Vithabai Narayangavkar Award to veteran artist Gulabbai Sangamnerkar, Gansamradni Lata Mangeshkar Award to veteran singer Usha Mangeshkar. Soon the prize money of all the honorees will be credited directly to their account. Once the prevalence of Covid-19 is reduced, award ceremonies can be organized in compliance with the rules of the government by honouring the awardees with Certificate, shawls & trophy.
