Licensing adding unconventional revenue for established brands

Mumbai, 11th Aug.2017: In today’s economy, brand licensing continues to grow brands through expansion into new product categories to make unconventional revenue source and emerging markets. However, today, companies are challenged to explore new brand licensing business models to further strengthen brand equity and generate revenue. The need to do so is pronounced in ‘The India Brand Licensing Summit’ held at Grand Hyatt, Santacruz recently.

Vishal Khanna founder of ‘Party Kingdom’, one of the largest range of theme based party products manufacturers & suppliers said, “We conducted detailed study which drove us to a conclusion that if someone thought of arranging a birthday party at his home he would not get all birthday products under one roof in India, which gave birth to idea of Party Kingdom. Our brainchild changed the scenario of birthday parties in India and the whole credit goes to my wife. We approached Walt Disney and we own 90 percent of party characters which can be easily used in all our products. In next month Party Kingdom would open its two hundred outlet.”
The Summit was ended with a panel discussion on ‘Retail trends & opportunities’ by Mr. Vishal Sinha- Business head- Sanjeev Kapoor Brand, Mr. Raymond Raphael- Deputy Category Head Hypercity, Mr. Hitesh Bhatt, Director- MarComm Retailer’s Association of India. The presence of Tubbby cartoon character of Adlabs Entertainment Ltd., Motu Patlu & Dora of Viacom 18 consumer products illuminated the show. Eminent speakers from well known brands like Mr. Sanjay Vakharia- Director & CEO Spykar Lifestyle, Mr. Safir Anand who’s regarded as one of India’s top intellectual property attorneys.
