Mumbai: Wockhardt Hospital, Mira Road, successfully conducted an oncology screening program for women police staff of Mira Bhayandar, Thane in Wockhardt Hospital Mira road. A complete blood count (CBC), Pap smear, Mammography, Gynac Consultations and an Ultrasound Scan (USG) test was offered to them free of cost. The program is expected to run for about a month wherein more women police staff members will participate to get themselves evaluated. Present on the occasion was Mr. Shantaram Valvi (DYSP Mira Road & Dr. Shashikant Bhosale (DYSP Bhayandar) and Dr. Pankaj Dhamija (Unit Head), from the hospital.
Dr. Mallika Tewari (Senior Consultant & Program Lead Surgical Oncology, Wockhardt Hospital, Mira Road said, “Women police staff is always on the go as they shoulder the responsibility of ensuring the safety, health, and possessions of citizens. Thus, they do not get enough time to take care of themselves and tend to ignore their health problems. It is our duty to help these women police staff members to overcome their health issues and lead a healthy life. This free oncology screening program will allow in early detection of breast cancer, cervical cancer, and gynecological problems by helping women police staff seek appropriate treatment, and improve the quality of life.”
