IMC President Mr Ashish Vaid’s viewpoint on US Presidential visit to India.

by Suman Gupta

The Chamber enthusiastically looks forward to a meaningful trade dialogue with US during President’s Trumps visit to India, wherein, US could consider lowering high duties imposed by it on certain aluminum and steel products. India could also put across decisively the resumption of export benefits under GSP which were curtailed. Likewise, through mutual respect for trade and commerce, there could be enhanced market access for India in US in areas of agriculture, automobiles , engineering goods etc, with India allowing certain concessions for diary products which US wants to enter.

The meeting of US corporate heads with Indian counterparts is expected increased investment flows into India, especially when structural reforms are underway to boost Indian economy growth rates.
