Tel Aviv Awarded the ‘Best International City’ at India’s Best Awards 2019

Tel Aviv won the ‘Best International City’ at the 8th edition of the readers’ choice – India’s Best Awards 2019 hosted by Travel + Leisure India & South Asia. The city emerged as the top choice in the reader polls conducted through an online voting process over the past few months, during which a record number of votes were registered.

The awards bestowed annually has lakhs of travellers voting for the best experience across 60 categories that range from top hotels, resorts, spas, destinations, airlines and travel service providers adding to the bucket list for 2020. Being a people’s choice awards, Israel competed against several destinations to acquire the winning spot as the crowd favourite in the ‘Best International City’ category.

In light of this victory, Mr. Sammy Yahia – Director, Israel Ministry of Tourism, India & Philippines said, “We are excited and feel grateful to receive this honour and would like to thank all the people who voted for Tel Aviv as the Best International City. We have seen a significant increase in interest among Indian travellers to explore Israel especially owing to its dynamic offerings. Tel Aviv is known as the vegan capital and party capital of the Middle East with its thriving 24×7 nightlife and world renowned gastronomy. People from around the world come here to experience the vibrant culture for a unique and unforgettable Mediterranean holiday”.

India’s Best Awards 2019 celebrates the best in travel and hospitality sector and aims to honour the finest in the industry. With this year’s theme revolving around ‘Conscious Travel’, Travel + Leisure India & South Asia has taken special efforts to identify and commemorate those that strive to work towards a greener planet.
